We went to a pre-season party for the Ballard FC soccer teams. There are 2 teams, mens and womens. Up the Bridges is the tag lines for the teams, due to the bridges around Ballard, especially the Ballard Bridge just north of where they play.

The party was at Stoup Brewing, a Ballard brewery sponsoring the teams this year. It was fun hanging out and meeting other fans. When we left the brewery we went to Ruebens Brews brewery, also a Ballard brewery, and the prior sponsor of the teams, for the past 3 years. We ran into Grace, one of the owners whom we have gotten to know through the team and because they had seats behind us at the Mariners games for a few years.
It has been so long since I bar hopped! This was a mild example, but fun none the less.
It’s now after 9 PM and we are home. I really should be in bed because last night we were subjected to more professional partiers in full party mode one lot away, through the backyard. These were college age folks, outside talking loudly over music. I’m pretty sure there was a DJ, and no real breaks in the music, except when it stopped to sing Happy Birthday (which is technically still music). And there was a lot of singing along with the music.
I was wondering how long this was going to keep going. It was a happy party, but still we wanted to sleep. Carl had gotten out of bed around 10. Then at 12 midnight I hear, “The parties over, everyone please go home.” It took a bit, but it did finally get quiet.
I think I would have appreciated being informed that the party was planned, and there was an actual end time. Then the neighborhood could have negotiated.

Midnight is way past my bedtime! I’m usually good for one pint so bar hopping isn’t much fun. I suppose I could have a soda.
