Halibut was the “but” of today. We tried a new recipe found in the NY Times. We were actually able to make it with ingredients we had in the house, and the halibut we bought. Trying new recipes is one thing I have been doing in retirement.

Our other action for the day was attending a little league t-ball game. The player we went to see was the daughter of a friend of our daughter. They had met playing baseball years ago, and soccer, and maybe basketball. As an added bonus it turns out another kid who played with our kid, and now has kids also has a kid on the team. So we got to see our kids friends and their kids, and almost as important – their parents, our contemporaries.
And tomorrow we’re planning to go to a coach-pitch game starring one of our neighbors.

I love halibut! I never got into cooking in my retirement although I did watch every version of the Great…Baking Show and did a lot more baking.

A year or so ago I decided I wanted to add more fish and vegetarian meals into our diet. Getting comfortable with tofu has been helpful, the cooking without leaving most stuck to the pan 😐
For fish we’ve been finding recipes and trying different things. We have a few go to meals now, but I keep my eyes open for others that don’t require searching for new ingredients at the supermarket.
