And I have absolutely nothing scary or Halloweeny to share. Not even a pumpkin spice latte that Carl forgot to get when he was out running errands.
And yes, Carl has returned from his time in the sun to the Seattle rain.
My hopes for some long walks are being washed away, although we may still try tomorrow. The other competition for our walking time is the World Series. IT’S November for God’s sake. Baseball should be over in October.
Tonight we will miss at least some of the baseball game to attend the Women’s Chorus show. I am hoping to share the experience the show with Janet and Lisa, who would normally be performing, but they may have already left for a Tlingit potlatch Lisa’s family is hosting near Juneau.
Okay, I am going to go scare Carl by working out for the first time in several weeks. (It’s either that or do the dishes.)

I went for a run, but I managed between the torrential rain showers. It’s fortunate that I don’t run far. I’m wondering if I’ll get any trick or treaters this year. It used to be 100s, but has dropped a lot over the nearly 20 years I’ve lived here.

Young woman, there’s no need to feel down.
I said, young woman, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young woman, ’cause you’re in a new town
There’s no need to be unhappy.
Young woman, there’s a place you can go.
I said, young woman, when you’re short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I’m sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.W.C.A.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.W.C.A.
They have everything for you women to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the girls …
It’s fun to stay at the Y.W.C.A.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.W.C.A.

I was in Tlingit territory back in 1996 when I did my wilderness canoe trip in BC/Alaska. during that trip we saw more bears than people — my first real bear siting! and I have a Tlingit t-shirt. š
