Cats as Presents

No, nobody is getting a cat from us as a present this Christmas.

But I remember when a certain cousin was given a gift of a cat at her wedding.
At least they tried.

This memory was sparked by this.
The cat is similar looking, but not so much in temperment.

In other news, I ventured out into shopping land today.
It was actually pleasant.
Not too crowded, and I knew what I was getting – so I did not spend a lot of time wandering around.

And since it was a sunny (not warm) day, we took a walk to do a little more shopping. Certainly more walking than shopping, but a bit of dough was dropped.

And UW beat WSU in the Apple Cup cross-state rivalry.
We have a few ardent Huskies (UW) at work. One of them was treated to this scene on Friday morning. He will be able to continue to laugh about this since the Huskies won, and will be eligible for their first bowl game in several years.

Actually, some may not remember that the [angry] cat in that box *belonged* to that cousin 🙂

yes, the cat gift was actually re-gifting – wasn’t it!
what a picture in my memory – Radical Betty and Duke struggling in the sand to keep moving forward and keep the lid on that box full of angry cat.
do others remember it that way as well or am I mis-remembering?

OMG – just watched the video. yes, you could say that the temperment of the cat differs slightly from Mike-cat.

    I love it!

Definitely Mike Cat struggling to be unwrapped as quickly as possible. I don’t remember if they were putting him by a table with presents or the cake. Must have been other presents, but really a classic beach moment.

The part I remember was that they were struggling to hand Susie the box as she and Barry were leaving and Muck was sticking his head out the top of the box.

So the trick is to not box the cat, but wrap it up? Still don’t think Mucksus Looey would have been as relaxed about it. Maybe this is to keep the cat from “helping” with wrapping presents, or maybe that cat is old and mellow.
