Father’s Day – 2011 Version

Father’s Day has dawned.
We have a father in house, but no children to wish him, “Happy Father’s Day,” in person.
And we too are far removed from our respective fathers and fathers-in-law.

So this morning, I was a good kid – stand-in.
I did the dishes. I made the coffee.

Now only our kids will understand that this was different (completely) than normal.
But – I tried.
Next, I am going to take him (local Dad) to the Mariners game.

And we hope to walk, so it is almost time to go.
Heck, they predicted a “son” break between the showers for today!

So – to all the Dads out there, especially 2, – HAPPY FATHER’S DAY.

Very cool photos! My husband always says that Father’s Day is just another day(he’s golfing today with his brother) but he loves that Alison came home to go putt putt golfing with him yesterday. (he won of course, but not by much) Ashley is in Senegal, which is too far away. 😦

We take each one as it comes. And they have all been different (although the Mariners play a fairly constant part). We did get to Skype to NYC with our daughter and had a brief call with our son. Closed circles. Our daughter got her father a Yankees T-shirt, that he won’t be able to use, much.

Did she get her maternal grandfather one? He would definitely use it, especially if it was long-sleeved. Although he does have a fine set of university shirts. 😉
