It could be Michigan

June 4, 2009

Out and about shopping with the young one.
Driving home from work earlier it was in the 90’s. That’s unusual for Seattle almost anytime.

Coming out of the grocery store, the last stop on a 2 hour jaunt – finally –

Lo and behold it is windier than all getout and 75 degrees.

Felt very much like Michigan in that
Don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes.
A bit of humidity in the air. Maybe even a thunderstorm, also fairly rare.

Time to pare down and hit the hay.

It’s a heat wave

June 3, 2009

It is hot. But I really feel like I have missed most of it.
Work is comfortable and the car rides have not been unbearable.
The evenings have been downright pleasant, without jackets for the most part.

Except for the weekends, work is currently ruling my life.
And while I am theoretically self-directed, I certainly don’t seem to be the one making decisions about what I get to work on. The project for which I am the true lead, that is really important, always seems to get shuttled to the side. I think it is because it is so big that you can’t “finish” it in a day, week or even month. So you keep slipping in all these other tasks brought by others. And they continue to just appear out of the ether.

So, tonight I am going to finish the items that were due today at noon, that I had sent out for review initially last Friday, that I finally got the review going at about 4 PM today, lasting until 5:15. But it has to get donw, whether it is my project or not, so …. here we go – break over.
