Stop the presses

Something happened yesterday that hasn’t happened in at least a decade.

I wore a dress.

To a gathering at a local watering hole to wish a friend well when they move next week.
It might have gone unnoticed by most in attendance, except Carl can’t keep a secret.

Thank you Ashlan. (With the black shoes)

yay i’m so proud of you!!!
    which dress was it?

  2. Jay Says:

    Brown, short sleeves

  3. Ashlan Says:

aww i bet you looked really cute!
but why didn’t you wear the red shoes?

  4. Jay Says:

weather. Not exactly warm, and baby steps man. We ended up having to walk a few blocks in the rain, so I was happy with my choice. It was also a dimly lit environment, so I doubt anybody would have noticed.

oddly enough, I wear skirts to work almost every day. Nothing fancy, but somehow I am more comfortable in them.

  7. Jay Says:

I think it had something to do with the forced wearing of skirts for so long at a young age, combined with the less creative aspects of my personality, and the ease with which pants fit in at work (no worries if you head to the field).

And pockets, don’t forget the pockets! The skirts I wear are mostly styled like trousers through the hips and waist*. That way I can carry my wallet and kleenex and pen, etc. with me w/o needing to keep track of a purse.

    * [Note to those too young to drink booze, these are two separate regions of the body, šŸ˜‰ ]

I don’t think I have ever worn a dress at my current employer. And my current co-workers look at me in disbelief when I tell them I used to wear a dress or suit to work every day at my old job.

I’m much happier with this dress code here. šŸ˜‰
