Redbellied Sapsuckers
Continuing on this mornings bird theme (sort of) my noon walk started with the sound of tapping on metal. The source was soon located. We think these are courting as they just kept at it, even with us in close proximity. (They are right outside our door, after all.)

They are tapping on metal?!? Must be true love for a pair of metal-heads.
And why does it make me think of the classrooms I’ve been in, where despite the exhortation to ‘keep the music to a level where I can’t hear it’, I can still hear four or five different songs! The upcoming generation will be deaf before I will, if they keep listening to such loud music with the headphones.
Yes, I know I sound like an old fuddy-duddy!
