Slip sliding away

This story is just worth looking at (reading isn’t really necessary – no one was badly hurt).

UPDATE – thank you all for your assistance. It was the Marquis that finally gave me the clue, although I was a bit slow at first – trying to use the chainlink symbol on the Dashboard, instead of from the kitchen sink.

You will probably have to cut and past to get the link to work. I am not being successful in getting it to look like a link, a problem I have had before. But the weather report is to do whatever you need to do today, because then we are in for it. So I am going shopping.

Should be easy to make links: Put this: in front of the text you want to use, with the URL of the link between the quote marks, then put the close after the text to close the reference. Hopefully, when I post this it won’t try to convert into a link!

WordPress strips angle brackets out of any posts and comments. It’s a security thing. Lemme see if this works:

    <a href=”the-url-you-want-to-link-to”>text description</a>

That shows how to code a link. That link doesn’t work, of course. I used a code to make the angle brackets show up (angle brackets = < and &gt).

Now for the link (if *this* works):

    bus accident

    *very* scary accident, btw

that would be: “(angle brackets = < and >). I’ll shaddup now.

See. KW knows FAR more about this than I do!

OMG this is like homework. I will try them when I have more than 30 seconds.

Under wordpress when you are composing a post there are two buttons. One looks like a chain and one looks like a broken chain. The chain button makes the link. The broken chain erases the link.

    1) highlight the text you want people to see.

    2) press the chain button. a pop up will appear.

    3) in the space where http:\ … is just paste in the web address you want to link to.

    4) click OK and you are done.
