June 8, 2008

Well Sunday is over. It was cloudy, but not rainy, and with a bit of sun in the afternoon. 1 mile + walk to get to the game for me. We first saw the sun during Carl’s baseball game (2-10 loss). I moved out of the stands chasing bits of sunshine to try and warm up.

And it is definately getting to be summer.  My soccer game was late (7 PM) and I actually wore my sunglasses for the first half, and it was still light out when I got home. (5-2 win I think – keeping score was never my strong suit.)

Ashlan spent her day working, and missed the soccer game. We missed her too.

A basic day, nothing special, but it’s our life.

Rain and Grey to stay and stay

June 7, 2008

Around 6 miles today – thanks to Carl for accompanying me.
We walked up to the mall where Ashlan is working to see her in action.

Weather in Raintown continues to be grey (gray?) and 50’s-60’s. The newspaper headlines are all about how this is going to be the norm for June and into July. I read about the warm temperatures back east and then crawl under a blanket.

Really I don’t mind rain, but this is getting to be (c)old. I guess it makes it easier to be at work.

Anybody know much about XM radio? Reception problems or radio hints. Thinking about it for Carlos.

Happy Day

Rey 2007

Happy birthday Rey! We miss you, we love you and we hope you have a wonderful day.

Be Merry?!

June 4, 2008

A day away from work, so why not be merry. Still up early, and off to appointments and some merry drugs. Everything is fine and no worries, but the most entertaining part of the morning was listening in to other patients and nurses stories. You don’t have much of a choice, all being in the same room for a while. I just want to always be one with a good attitude. While the nurses said that people say all sorts of things under sedation (like singing Irish tunes), they said all I really did was smile a bunch. I guess that means I am a merry person underneath it all.

Drink

June 3, 2008

Fluids, fluids, fluids … they are supposed to be so good for you. I have had enough for one day.

Oh – and apparent Obama v apparent McCain – which will be the most transparent.

Food

June 2, 2008

Have you ever noticed that when your diet is restricted, you always see things you can’t eat.

Theme for the day – Hungry for what I can’t have.

Oh yeah – For you Michiganders that didn’t make it past midnight, the RedWings lost (boo-hoo). I found myself with two that wanted the Penguins (Nook? who are you rooting for).

Weekends – day 2

June 1, 2008

Well today we all got to play games ourselves. Ashlan & my team won our soccer game 6-0 and Carl’s team won their baseball game 14-3. Carl got two singles and a double, pitched two innings, giving up 1 run. Ashlan only got to play the first half of our game, because she had to go to work (her first non-training day).

Busy now planning next week, although it doesn’t seem to matter how much we plan, it just happens.

Weekends – day 1

June 1, 2008

Saturday is fading to tomorrow as I write.

It started with an 8 AM with dentist appointments.

Then on to Radio Shack to get boxes that will help keep the almighty TV operational into 2009. I am really kind of peeved about having to spend money to continue to watch free TV. I am also not sure if these boxes will work with my 1978 black and white that just keeps going. It was my first big purchase out of college.

Then a bus ride down to a Mariners game (M’s 5 – Tigers 0), a walk on the waterfront, and back to the stadium district for a “Friendly” soccer game between Brazil and Canada (Brazil 3 – Canada 2). It was supposed to be a nice-ish day with a high around 70, but we got a drizzly day for most of it instead.

Finally back home and ready for bed, except that Carl is still doing laundry so we all have clothes for our various games tomorrow (soccer for Jay & Ashlan, baseball for Carl)

Good day, and good night.
