Finally – the car is back. Carl had to deal with insurance (not ours) to extricate the car from the repair shop – whew.
I have been able to get to and from work via carpools and one bus. Now I owe rides, but thanks to those that cover for us when we need it.
Now can I take it to the next level and get out of the car at least one day a week.

Car back? Back from where? Insurance? What happened?

Our Mazda was front ended by Honda CRV at a stop light a few weeks ago. Carl, Ashlan and at least one of the little girls were at a stoplight, behind another car, both stopped. The other car’s driver somehow let the car start sliding backwards (manual or ??). Carl honked, but to no avail, and the car was hit by the tire that sits on the back of CRVs. It dented the hood and slightly shifted a light. So – after more than a week of getting estimates, insurance or not questions answered, the car was in the shop for 5 days. Only 4 were actually worked on days, as the insurance company didn’t give the go-ahead immediately (just as they didn’t get the check to the repair shop immediately at the end). – For the record, not our insurance company.
